Rumored & Unannounced

It's important to be careful when adding a rumored/unannounced game to IGDB as there can be a risk for faulty data. Please do not add a game just because you believe that there will be one. There must be some kind of hint from either the media or directly from the game studio/publishers themselves. If you're adding a rumored game, make sure to add that status.

Example of a rumored game that is allowed:

• Half-Life 3 got accepted to the data as it had multiple articles written about it and even some concept art.

A good rule of thumb is ‘No name, no game’. If there’s no title whatsoever, don’t add it to the database until there’s a title!

Note: If you are a developer adding your own unannounced and upcoming game, please do not use the rumored status when submitting your own game.
