spell checking not working

I am running Pulsar 1.105.0 x64, installed from RPM on Fedora 36.

I just noticed that no spell checking is happening as I edit Asciidoc files. Misspelled words are not underlined. I see that the spell-check package is installed.

I tried installing linter-spell, which prompted me to disable spell-check. But linter-spell appears to detect spelling issued only when the file is saved. I need spell-checking as I type.

How can I make spell-check work, or else is there another way to get spell-checking as I type?

I at least haven't seen or heard of any other issues with spell check. Does spell check function if you are writing content into a .txt file?

Further testing shows that when I start a "blank" pulsar, spell checking works at first. However after being tried on a certain big AsciiDoc file spell checking stops working on all files in this editor window.

I will try to isolate what feature of the file causes the apparent plugin crash. But also is there some way to get the log of a plugin to see if, and why, it crashed?

Really the DevTools would be the best way to see any logging from a package, but keep in mind all packages will be outputting data there, as well as Pulsar itself. If the package is truly crashing, then you'll absolutely be able to see it in your DevTools console

I am reproducing these problems on a Mac, with Pulsar 1.105.2023053023. Ideally I can go with a minimum set of packages
but I don't know which to select. My use case is editing Markdown for Jekyll with simple spell-check.
