Checklist clarifications #39

There are a few checklist items where it may be helpful to include clarification. Listed them below (with a brief note on the clarification) and will update if more come up. Can also use the list as a way to keep track of what has been as a clarification point.

What is considered "open source" in the context of the checklist?

IIRC, the intention of the "open source" criteria was source availability, so we should make that distinction.

That makes sense. We might want to specifically require an open-source license rather than just any license, but maybe being explicitly licensed and source-available is enough for our purposes?
