Description

The Context:
Although the project is open, it is currently not on par with the industry standards used when making a project FOSS. We need to address that by ensuring everyone in the community is welcome to contribute and comfortable to do so.

The Solution:
In order to address this situation, this checklist could be used as a starter: https://github.com/WOSPM/checklist

The ideal outcome is having a PR that addresses all the issues listed in that checklist.
