Through a combination of discussion, demonstration, and hands-on preparation, they will explore clear explanations, mindful tone, and engaging content as key components of an effective presentation. The session includes time for students to create and practice their presentations, and it emphasizes the real-world application of these skills in the tech industry.

  • ⏰ Do Now (5) :

    • Ensure all students are ready and have access to the necessary files.
    • Confirm that all students have submitted their projects.
    • Provide clear guidance on where and how to submit projects.

  • 👀 Presentations Overview (5) :

    • Outline the expectations for presentations.
    • Explain the importance of presenting in the tech industry.
    • Detail the presentation format (2 minutes for presentation, 1-2 minutes for Q&A)
    • Emphasize the structure and interaction in small groups.

  • 🗝️ Successful Presentations (5) :

    • Discuss the key elements that make a presentation successful.
    • Engage students with questions about their feelings on presentations and what they think makes a strong one.
    • Explain key points: clear explanations, mindful tone, and engagement.

  • 👉 Presentation Demo (5) :

    • Demonstrate a quality presentation.
    • Have a pre-selected individual (INSERT NAME) do a presentation demo.
    • Ask the audience to focus on strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Conduct a Q&A demo, and let the audience members ask questions.
    • Debrief and discuss what was strong and what could be improved.

  • 💻 Presentation Work Time (20) :

    • Allow students to prepare their presentations.
    • Open the Unit 2 Presentation Template in Google Classroom.
    • Provide time for students to work on their projects if needed.
    • If time permits, allow students to practice their presentations.

  • 👋 Exit Ticket & Closing (5) :

    • Conclude the lesson and check for completion.
    • Direct students to complete the Exit Ticket.
    • Ask students to double-check that they submitted a complete project to their exit ticket.
    • Close with positive reinforcement and remind students of the next class's agenda (if applicable).
