Lesson 2.9: Project Work Time (Optional)


  • This lesson is meant to be almost entirely dedicated to project work time.
  • It is the last block of work time students are scheduled to have on this project.
  • There is optional time for a quick review with students.

Key Points

  • 👋 Welcome & Do Now (10) :

    • Begin the session with a welcome message and a short activity to engage students.
    • Have students complete the Do Now.

  • 🔄 [Optional] Review (15) :

    • Take this time to add in any review based on students' needs.
    • This can also be a great time for a Q & A to cover any skills/do some live coding with students.

  • 💻 Project Work Time (30):

    • Students continue working on their Trivia project.
    • They should open the README and start working on anything else you haven’t completed.
    • Circulate for to support students and answer questions.
    • Encourage students to add features or offer suggestions.

  • ⏳ Break (10)

  • 💻 Project Work Time (40) :

    • Students continue working on their Trivia project.
    • They should open the README and start working on anything else you haven’t completed.
    • Circulate for to support students and answer questions.
    • If a student is behind in their tasks, set a goal for them that is achievable in the given time.

  • 👋 Exit Ticket & Closing (10) :

    • Direct students to the submit their project in the Class Agenda.
    • Ensure they submit before leaving.
