Game volume starts peaking in stage 2-2 #445

Playing stage 2-2 after playing any other stage does something to the sounds in the game to cause them to start peaking and become distorted. It seems like the volume for everything gets turned up? This seems to affect sound effects most noticeably, but the music is affected too.

  1. Enter any stage other than 2-2
  2. Leave the stage by any means (win, lose, or leave from the pause screen)
  3. Enter stage 2-2
  4. All game sounds become distorted and start peaking

The effect is subtle at times, but repeating the steps makes it worse each time.

Occurs on v1.0.4 and v1.0.4b on Android, and v0.5.4 on iOS

The peaking and distortion effect seems to get even worse while #444 is in effect on all versions.
