[Feature Request] provide unit-of-measure configuration option for distance and area

What feature or change would you like to see made?

Allow the measurement annotation tools relating to distance and area to be displayed in a different unit of measure.
Specifically, a global configuration that can be set at execution time that specifies the unit-of-measure abbreviation for distance and area, and the conversion scale factor from millimeter to the desired unit-of-measure.
When unset, then millimeters are used as today.
When set, then all measurement tools apply the scale factor to derive the numerical value and then use the value and the abbreviation to report the value in customer-facing output
